Harold L Karstensen

Harold L. Karstensen, 94, of Beecher, IL passed away Monday, October 3, 2022, at Symphony of Dyer. Harold was born January 19, 1928, in Grant Park, IL to Christ and Lula (Unruh) Karstensen. He married Ferne Storbeck on September 10, 1949, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Beecher. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2018. He is survived by his children Darceta (late Russell) Mueller of Momence, IL, Richard and Marsha Karstensen of Clarkston, MI, and Jayne Biesterfeld of Beecher, IL, as well as his brother, Walter Karstensen of Crown Point, IN, and a sister-in-law Carol R. Meyer of Beecher, IL. Also surviving are his grandchildren Rachel (Carl) Bormet, Kirsten (Rob) Bishir, John (Kristy) Mueller, Nicholas (Emily) Karstensen, Jennifer (Jason) Reynolds, Sarah (Matthew) Goulding, and Daniel Biesterfeld, great-grandchildren, Carl, Paul, Jacob, Hannah, Henrik, Luke, Greta, Miles, Jamison, and Arabella, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister, Marie (Martin) Marsh, and his brothers, Irvin (Arlene) Karstensen, Arno Karstensen, Raymond (Carmie) Karstensen, Vernon (Eileen) Karstensen and Wayne (Delores) Karstensen. Harold was part owner of O.S.&K. Milk Transfer, worked at Metal Fabricating in Crete, IL and Minnotte Fabricating in Crown Point, IN. After retirement Harold worked mowing the course and fixing golf carts at Cardinal Creek Golf Course in Beecher, IL. Harold was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Beecher, IL where he was a voting member of the congregation, belonged to the Lutheran Laymen's League and served as Church Elder. Harold was also a long-standing member of the Beecher Sportsmen’s Club. Harold enjoyed playing cards and spending time at McDonalds drinking coffee with his friends. Harold was an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 6th, 2022, from 3-7 pm at Hack-Jensen Funeral Home in Beecher. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, October 7th, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, with burial following at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Beecher, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Ev. Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour. At the request of family, they request that a face mask or covering be used at the visitation.
