Obituary for Jacque Charles Halverson Jacque Halverson, 92, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024, at the Manteno Veterans Home in the arms of his loving Savior. He was born January, the son of Carl Halverson and Isabelle Alberts. On June 5, 1954, he married the love of his life, Betty Praag. Together they shared a remarkable 70-year journey of marriage, lled with joy, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to one another. His family was his greatest joy. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a vast and loving number of family and friends. His family will deeply miss his, and unwavering support. Jacque Halverson is survived by his wife, Betty Halverson, his daughters, Cheryl Halverson (Randy) Bettenhausen of Peotone, IL, Gayle (the late Christopher) Kurowski of Peotone, IL, Sandra (Scot) Latino of Manteno, IL; and his son, Erik (Kim) Halverson of Peotone, IL; one brother-in-law, Gerald Praag, of Lake Zurich, IL, four sisters-in-law, Elaine Borkstrom of Tinley Park, IL, Dottie Praag of Lake Zurich, IL, Rose Halverson of Hampshire, IL, and Ann Nagel of Novato, CA; grandchildren; Justin (Minerva) Finley, Jesse (Kiersten) Halverson, Erika Halverson, Jack Halverson, Isabelle Kurowski, and Elizabeth Latino. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Rocky and Mila Finley, & Jesse, Jr. and Raymond Halverson and many special nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepparents, one sister, Muriel Slama, brothers, Donald Alberts, and Robert Halverson, brothers-in-law, Red Nagel, Dave Slama and Carl Borkstrom and a son-in-law Chris Kurowski. Jacque was deeply devoted to his family and faith. His love and devotion to his family knew no bounds. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories. Jacque was a member of Zion Lutheran Church (now Peace Lutheran Church) in Beecher, IL for over 40 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jacque worked most of his life as a union electrician with Union Local 134. He was also the electrical inspector of Hazel Crest and East Hazel Crest for many years and enjoyed doing various side jobs. He achieved his dream of buying a farm, where he spent many joyous years. He loved to sh, garden, and spend his time creating memories for his family and friends. He was a gifted individual, whose talents touched the lives of many. His memory will be cherished. Services were held on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Peace Lutheran Church in Beecher, IL. Pastor Julian LaMie ociated the service. Burial was at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church’s Dorcas Society in Beecher. Hack-Jensen Funeral Home in Beecher handled the arrangements.
