Evelyn M Becker, 80 of Grant Park, IL passed away April 6, 2018 in Kankakee, IL. She was born on January 30, 1938 in Red Bud, Il the daughter of Rev. Reimar and Magdelene nee Schmidt Frick. Her loving husband William Becker whom she married December 8, 1957 in Grant Park, IL survives her. She is also survived by her children William (Melanie) Becker of Waynesburg, PA, Debbie Becker of Bourbonnais, IL, Steven Becker of Grant Park, IL and Ruth (Shawn) Junker of Grant Park, IL; her grandchildren Nicole (Joshua) Gerst, Keith (Amanda) Trompler, Billy Becker, Lauren Sultzer, Jacob Trompler, Joshua Junker, Jessica Junker, Emily Junker; and her great grandchildren Brody Litton, Remington Trompler, Riley Becker, Ava Sultzer and Evelyn Sultzer.Her siblings Rev. Wilfrid Frick, Helen Wehmeyer, Sylvia Baldwin, Anita (Erhart) Bauer and a sister-in-law Elsie Frick also survive; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Doris Frick, brother Ralph Frick, sister Marian Frick, brother-in-law Lawrence Baldwin, sister-in-law Elvira Frick, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Elmer and Helen Becker and daughter-in-law Bonnie Becker. Evelyn was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Grant Park, IL where she was an organist for 50 years. She sold Avon for many years and volunteered at Grant Park Schools, where she accompanied the chorus and read books to children in the library. She also volunteered at the Grant Park Historical Society where she helped with fundraising to bring the Point School to the GPES school grounds. She accompanied her grandchildren for solos with their instruments and gave piano lessons. She also volunteered with Lutherans for Life in Crete, IL and at the library at Crete Lutheran High School. Visitation will be held April 12, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Hack Funeral Home in Beecher, IL. Funeral services will be conducted Friday April 13, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Grant Park, IL. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Grant Park, IL. Rev. Dan Herald will officiate. Memorials may be directed to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
