Carol S McKay Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carol S. McKay (Jablonski) 72 years old of Beecher, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at home with family by her side. She was born on December 30, 1948, in South Chicago, IL. The daughter of Albin and Sylvia Jablonski. Carol married Daniel McKay on September 1, 1973 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in South Holland. She graduated from Thornridge High School in 1966, and South Suburban Community College in 1968 with a degree in nursing. She worked at the University of Chicago Hospital, St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island, and Christie Clinic in Champaign, IL. In 1980, she disembarked from her nursing career to raise her daughter and help her husband start a veterinary hospital in Beecher. She started out as the only staff member and in time was managing a very busy practice with 18 employees. She was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Peotone. A longtime member of the Beecher Ladies Bunco Club. She enjoyed baking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. Always supportive of her grandchildren, she took the greatest delight in spending time with them, which included attending all their athletic events. Surviving is her husband Daniel; a daughter Amy (Chris) Sluis of Grant Park; two grandchildren Noah Christoper and Claire Addison; her mother Sylvia Eve; sisters Eileen (Dwight) Burnson of Frankfort and Julie (Mark) Mierzwa of Crown Point, Indiana; 23 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Albin Jablonski, a brother Larry Jablonski; infant son, John Francis. Cremation rites have been accorded. A mass celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 27, 2021, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone. Memorials may be made to uplifted.org (formerly Kankakee Valley Hospice) who assisted Carol’s passing with peace and dignity.
