Eldon Henry Matthias

Eldon Henry Matthias, 92, of Grant Park passed away on March 13, 2021 at his home. He was born June 14, 1928 in Grant Park, the son of Henry and Emma (Huhnemorder) Matthias. On September 26, 1953 he married LaVerne Jean Kurth who passed away on March 22, 1995. He was a lifelong resident of Grant Park where he farmed his entire life. He enjoyed farming with his family. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Grant Park. He served in the US Army Medical Corp from 1955 – 1957. Eldon is survived by his son Bruce (Marlene) Matthias of Grant Park, a grandson, Slava Matthias, 2 sisters, Agnes Hannover of Grant Park and Rosella Werhmann of Beecher. Besides his wife, he is also preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandson Matthew Matthias. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. till the funeral service at 11 A.M. on Tuesday March 16, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church in Grant Park. Pastor Cory Estby will officiate. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Grant Park, with military honors accorded. Memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund per family wishes.
