Elmer H. Pfingsten Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Elmer H. Pfingsten, Hudson, Illinois, formerly of Beecher and Grant Park, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in Bloomington, Illinois. Elmer was born on June 15, 1919 in Grant Park, Illinois to Arthur and Amanda nee Carstens Pfingsten. He married Minnie nee Cirks on November 25, 1950 at St. Peter’s United Church Of Christ in Grant Park, Illinois. Elmer Served in the US Army in WW II and was a carpenter and construction superintendent who worked in the Chicago land area. He loved his family and never missed any of his grandchildren’s events. He never missed the chance to help anyone who was in need. He also enjoyed fishing, volunteering at the Manteno Veterans Home and was a great Chicago White Sox fan. Elmer H. Pfingsten is survived by his wife Minnie, four daughters: Paulette (Don) Meiner of Conroe, TX; Patti (David) Bernhard of Mokena, IL; Pamela (Mike) Spong of Goodfield, IL; Penny Pfingsten of Hudson, IL; one son Robert Pfingsten of Vietnam; eleven grandchildren: David, Carri, Brandon, Jenifer, Timothy, Morgan, Erik, Christopher, Alexandra, Katherine, and Robert; and ten great grandchildren: MacKenzie, Kelsey, Karly, Madalyn, Owen, Beckett, Brady, Lauryn, Madison and Landon. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Roy and a sister Ethel. Visitation will be on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Hack Funeral Home in Beecher, Illinois from 3 until 8 pm and the funeral will be held at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Grant Park, Illinois at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Doug Zimmerman with a short visitation from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Union Corners Cemetery, Grant Park. Memorials may be directed to the Manteno Illinois Veterans Home.
