    Glenn Eckhoff

    January 14, 1929 - June 11, 2019

Obituary Glenn Eckhoff, 90, of Momence, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019. Glenn was born January 14, 1929 in Steger, a son of the late Albert and Minnie Troester Eckhoff. Glenn began his career driving for a local milk company with his father. This was put on hold while he served his country during the Korean War. After the war, Glenn enjoyed a career as a milkman for many years, before becoming a driver for Stroh’s beer and for Budweiser. He married his wife Joan Yaeger on August 11, 1951. They had two children. She preceded him in death on July 30th, 2012. A man of strong faith, Glenn was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Grant Park. He was also a member of the American Legion of Grant Park. In retirement, Glenn enjoyed driving for car dealerships, frequenting area coffee shops, and keeping up with his friends and family. He was blessed to travel in the months before his death, meeting two of his four great-grandchildren for the first time. He was known for his sweet tooth and often indulged in pie and ice cream. He is survived by a son Michael (Karen) Eckhoff of Gulf Breeze, Florida; a daughter, Debra Reising of Lowell, Indiana; two sisters, Joyce (Augie) Kutemeier and Susan Neeb; brother-in-law Bob Yaeger; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan; his parents,  Albert and Minnie; his stepmother, Ann; an infant brother, Wayne; a sister, Shirley; a sister-in-law, Darlene; and a son-in-law, Steve. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be held on July 5th from 9 AM to 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church of Grant Park, with a service beginning at 11 AM. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church of Grant Park. To send flowers to Glenn's family, please visit our floral section.
