Brian Eugene “Bubba” Leslie 1961 – 2025 Brian Eugene Leslie, known by his closest friends as “Bubba” passed away on February 4, 2025, in Olympia Fields, Illinois, at the age of 63. Born on February 8, 1961, in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Brian lived a life filled with dedication to his work, deep friendships, and cherished pastimes. Brian devoted much of his career to serving others as a paramedic and firefighter for Crete Township and Palos Heights fire departments. His commitment to helping those in need was a defining part of his life. In addition to his work in emergency services, he also worked as a limo driver and then at Larry’s Cartage as a truck dispatcher. No matter the role he took on, Brian was dedicated to his work and those around him. Beyond his professional life, Brian had many passions that brought him joy. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved spending time outdoors. Brian enjoyed planting and harvesting his garden and fruit trees. He also had a talent for cooking and enjoyed preparing meals for those he cared about. A dedicated collector, Brian amassed an impressive assortment of coins, Pez dispensers, cast iron banks, and casino chips – each piece holding special meaning for him. Brian had an extraordinary ability to form lasting friendships. He never met a stranger – only friends he hadn’t yet made. His kindness and humor left a permanent mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Among those he held closest were his beloved cats, Trixie and Dixie, whom he adored and spoiled endlessly. He is survived by his sister Bonnie Mausehund (Leslie) and her husband Michael Mausehund, sister Coleen Davis (Leslie), sister-in-law Kimberly Leslie (Snell), nephew Kevin Mausehund, nieces Sandra Coffey and Shelbey Collins, cousins Mithchell Bramsteadt and his husband Paul Garbarcyzk, Granger Buhr, Dawn Buss and her husband Lee Buss. Along with many dear friends that Brian choose to call family. Brian was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Rosalind Leslie and his brother Daniel Leslie. Brian will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held on Sunday February 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Hack-Jensen Funeral Home, located at 753 Hodges St. Beecher, Illinois 60401. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or by planting a tree in Brian’s memory. Brian’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering friendship will be remembered always. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
