Kerri (Stedt) McDonough

Kerri Nichole Stedt McDonough passed away unexpectedly July 14, 2026, leaving behind a family and community who loved her deeply. Though her life was far too short, she made an incredible impact through her kindness, generosity, laughter, and unwavering dedication to others. Born on May 1, 1977, in Hazel Crest, Illinois. Kerri grew up in Beecher, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed the caring, outgoing personality that everyone who knew her came to love. She attended the University of Illinois before earning her master’s degree from Rush University in Chicago. Kerri built a meaningful career as a Registered Occupational Therapist and manager with Hillman Pediatrics, where she spent over 21 years in her professional life helping children with special needs reach their fullest potential. She was a passionate advocate for children and their families and found great purpose in helping them succeed. Throughout her career, she touched the lives of countless children, parents, educators, and coworkers, who will remember her compassion, dedication, and genuine care for others. Outside of work, Kerri loved spending time on the golf course. A talented golfer with a proud 15 handicap, she enjoyed both the competition and the friendships the game brought into her life. She worked and played at Cardinal Creek Golf Course in Beecher, where she became a familiar and welcoming face to members and guests alike. One of the greatest gifts of this summer was the opportunity to work alongside her son, Colin, at Cardinal Creek. Together they shared long days, plenty of laughs, and, on her final day, a memorable round of golf—time that will always be treasured. More than anything, Kerri was a devoted mother. She was Colin’s biggest supporter, cheering him on through years of baseball and football before proudly becoming a Kentucky Wildcats fan as he pursued his education. She loved being his mom and was incredibly proud of the young man he has become. In 2022, Kerri met Kurt Kelderhouse, and together they found a wonderful partnership built on laughter, friendship, and love. They became engaged and were looking forward to being married this October, excited for the future they were building together. Kerri had a way of making people feel welcome. Whether at family gatherings, girls’ nights, on the golf course, or simply spending time with friends, she brought warmth, humor, and an infectious laugh that people will never forget. She genuinely enjoyed being with others and made every gathering a little brighter simply by being there. She is survived by her beloved son, Colin; her fiancé, Kurt Kelderhouse; her father, Dave Stedt, and his wife, Ruta; her mother, Carole Stedt; her sister, Kelly, and brother-in-law, Jeff Rehborg; her sisters, Riley Bowler and Briana Bowler; her niece, Maci DiNardo and Michael; her nephew, Travis Rehborg; and many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and the countless children and families whose lives she touched. Kerri will be remembered for the way she lived—with kindness, laughter, generosity, and a heart for serving others. While she will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved her will carry her memory with them always.
